The novel Mister and Me by Kimberly Willis Holt is one of my favorite novels for teaching figurative language. The novel is full of wonderful idioms and sayings, which make for great teaching points especially for English language learners. This Idioms and Figurative Language Task guides students through many different examples of this type of language. Download these sheets for free from my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
