Idioms and figurative language provide challenges no matter what book students are reading. The novel Mister and Me is one of my favorites to teach in 3rd grade and it is chock full of both idioms and figurative language. This Idioms and Figurative Language Comprehension Task is one of the sheets I use to help my students understand all of the complex language that fills the novel. You can download it for free from my Teachers Pay Teachers store to help your students.
