One way they practice is at our pocket chart center. I usually have a pocket chart activity for students to do during small group guided math time when some of my students work on math activities independently. They usually work with a partner at the pocket chart.
These are spring ten frame cards for use at the pocket chart.
The students write an equation for each of the ten frame cards. The cards also help with subitizing.
I scaffold the activity by having students match the equations to the ten frame cards. They then add the number of seeds and write the equations on the recording sheet.
The cards also make a great early finisher math activity.
