Integrating technology into our curriculum is more and more important with the ever increasing reliance on technology based assessments. My students take the PARCC which requires them to manipulate the computer and type out answers. Since the test is timed, the quicker they can type, the more they can possibly get done. Students with little to no computer experience outside of the classroom are at a disadvantage on these tests for this reason. One way to help these students is to integrate technology into your writing lessons. This Writing and Technology Integration Matrix gives you four possible writing projects for each grade K - 5. This tool is great for both technology teachers and classroom teachers. Download this matrix for free from my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
