Terry Fox Posters and Activities
In Canada, every September there is a Terry Fox run held in various communities around the country.
In 1977, Terry Fox got cancer and had to have part of his leg amputated. He decided to fight back against cancer and make a difference. He began his Marathon of Hope in April 1980. His goal was to run across Canada and earn money for cancer research. Unfortunately, his cancer returned and he was unable to continue. He died in June 1981, but his legacy continued on. To find out more about his story and the legacy he has left behind, click here.
I made these posters and activities to use in the classroom prior to the run to create discussion and an awareness of how Terry Fox didn't let cancer stop him from making a difference. Click on the image to get you free copy.
