Fables are commonly used on reading comprehension tests. This is often because they are copyright free and easy to use. Additionally fables are often quoted in other stories because they are considered "common culture" that most anyone would know. Unfortunately, many of our students don't know common fables. This Readers Response Packet for The Tortoise and the Hare allows students to make multiple connections to this common fable. Students will be able to work on summarizing, main idea, details, vocabulary and creative writing with this free packet. Download this packet from my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
