Susan Berkowitz’s Thanksgiving Then and Now Same and Different

One of the key language skills we teach to students is the art of describing, and then of comparing and contrasting.
We ask students to organize what they know about something, then ask them to organize what they know about something else, then have them try to hold onto the information while they formulate a way to tell us how those items are the same, and/or how they are different.

It seems like a big language task for students who have difficulty with language skills.
So, how better to practice than with holiday related themes?
Here is a resource that provides information about the original Thanksgiving feast and what we do today, and asks students to compare and contrast the 2.
Have fun with this resource, and have a GREAT Thanksgiving.

Until later, keep on talking!
