Hidden Figures Hidden Fun

I love studying all of the important contributions of African Americans with my class during black history month.  My students research and learn about many prominent figures.  Each year, however, students also learn about less prominent figures whose contributions to society have been equally important.  I was so inspired last year after watching the film Hidden Figures and learning about three black women who worked for NASA during the 1960's space race.  I created this free black history word search and included many famous, and some not so famous names from African American history.  If your students find a name that they are not familiar with, encourage them to do a little research.  All of the names are people worth knowing about.
