Keepsake Butterfly A Cute Craft for Mother's Day or Father's Day

Looking for a quick and easy craftivity for your students to make for Mother's Day?

This sweet butterfly's wings are made by tracing a child's foot with their shoe on.
It's sure to become a cherished keepsake.

I've included a background template for Mother's Day and Father's Day, as well as a generic one so a child can give this to anyone.

Students take their shoe off and trace it on a folded sheet of construction paper.
By cutting once they will have two "butterfly wings."

For awesome 3D pop, have children fold the edges a bit, and instead of gluing the wings down flat, have them "pop up" by bending that glue tab edge down and the rest of the wing up.

You can also do this with the center head & thorax section of the butterfly, as seen in the photograph.

Older students can compose a writing prompt on the back of their worksheet.
