Leprechaun Traps

All Freebies

To get my students excited about St. Patrick’s Day as well as to give them ideas to write about, I would give them the opportunity to create leprechaun traps and bring them in on St. Patrick’s Day.  We would set the traps out around the classroom and see if we could catch anything.  Below is the letter I would send home to parents about the traps.  I always made this an optional assignment, but never had a student not participate. I taught first grade, but I think even upper elementary students would enjoy this project if you connect it up to creative writing.  In the picture below you can see a couple of the cute traps that some of my students made.  To download your free parent letter about the leprechaun trap, just click on the picture.
