If you’re not using counting frames (Rekenreks) as tools for math in your classroom, you need to look into it. I recently did a post on the subject you can check out even if you’re already using them. My students love the counting frame and it is the go to tool for most of them. They prefer it over any other manipulatives. We have used them for recognizing what numbers “look like”, adding, subtracting and finding missing numbers in an equation. You can get a free mini-pack of questions, prompts and recording sheets to use along with the counting frames on my post here.
