Happy Sunday!
This post is full of freebies – past & present!
I’ve been busy preparing for my Guided Reading groups – please check out my post describing how my school sets up our groups by level.
We officially started last week and I had a blast meeting my new Level D readers! We spent the week establishing expectations and routines, practicing how to move between stations (we do 2 rotations), and learning about the different independent literacy work stations. The biggest hits: sculpting and the Mail It center (freebie alerts – here and here!). The one station I will need to completely rethink: Just Bead It! I observed more “playing” than word work there 🙁
One station that has become a staple over the past two years is my Spill It! Center. Students “spill” 6 or 8 letter cards and then see how many words they can form.I often differentiate for groups by preselecting the vowel and/or using less letter cards. Does anyone else take out the “y,” or is just me? 😉
Here’s a freebie Halloween set for you! I already had a Halloween version, but couldn’t resist these lanterns – I ♥ them!

Have a super Sunday!
