I’m Rachel Lynette from Minds in Bloom. One of the things I love about creating teaching materials is finding ways to facilitate creative and critical thinking. I strongly believe that our young people are going to need these skills as they face the huge tangle of challenges that await them in adulthood. While this is not always possible in every project, I try to incorporate higher level thinking skills into most of what I create.
These days, most of what I create are task cards. I love task cards because they can be used in so many different ways – at centers, in partners, in games, as assessment, for extra practice etc. Not only that, they save paper and kids love them! One of the things that I love about being a part of Classroom Freebies is that I get to share my free task cards (as well as other resources) with all of you!
Another thing I love about Classroom Freebies is getting to see the amazing freebies my teaching friends are creating. It should come as no surprise that one of my favorite sellers is the incredible Laura Candler. Her products (both free and for purchase) are always appealing, well thought-out, and highly useful. For example, I love this Behavior Reflection Graphic Organizer. Exactly what is needed to help students understand their behavior and make better choices next time.
