Hi there! I’m Kayla from Primary Junction. I can’t believe Classroom Freebies has hit 5 million visitors! It seems like just yesterday that Classroom Freebies was first launched. What an incredible year of sharing it has been! Thank you to Charity, all of the fabulous teachers who share their amazing creations, and the awesome and supportive teachers who use these shared ideas. Classroom Freebies is such a great team of collaborators!
The majority of my teaching experience has been in grades K-2, which is why my blog is called Primary Junction! I started blogging in hopes of sharing information and activity ideas to parents of children in primary school, but I soon caught onto the teacher blogging craze, so my blog became a mixture of sharing information and ideas for both parents and teachers. As a teacher, I love to incorporate technology into my classroom, so I often share technological resources and ideas through my blog such as websites and SMARTBoard and ActivBoard activities. I’ve been blogging for over a year now, and it has been the most amazing experience. I have met some incredible teachers and learned a great deal from them. I know I am a better teacher because of it!
Like all teachers, I also have a life outside of teaching! Some things I enjoy doing in my “free” time are traveling, spending time with family and friends, and creating graphics.
I’ve chosen to share with you a creative and hands-on activity from Denise at Sunny Days in Second Grade. Her Lace & Learn Doubles and Antonyms freebie is such a clever idea! Students answer problems by lacing and then check their answers by flipping their card over to make sure their lacing lines up perfectly with the lines on the back of the card. I wish I had thought of this idea! Kids love the activity, and it is a GREAT way to throw in some practice and assessment without them knowing!
