The bead slide is my all-time favorite tool for teaching phoneme segmentation. It’s easy to make and very effective for teaching children to segment the sounds in words. Simply say a word and have the students move a bead for each sound they hear in the word. The problem is sometimes I just can’t quickly come up with 2-, 3- and 4- phoneme words. So to solve this little issue I created a simple cheat sheet.
Come on over to the Make, Take & Teach blog to download this freebie and watch a video on how to make and use the Bead Slide.
