Hello, Teaching Friends!
What an awesome moment it is for our kiddos when they proudly proclaim, “I know the whole alphabet!”
Many times, parents may see the ability to sing the ABC Song as “knowing” the alphabet, when we know that so much more is involved! Here’s a parent handout that lists some of the many ways to “know” the alphabet: letter names, letter sounds, uppercase/lowercase match, sequence of letters, etc.
This makes a great handout at parent conferences, and it’s also handy as a reference when you’re writing student progress reports.
Happy Teaching!
