This is a wonderful back to school packet that you can use for a variety of games and assessment activities.
It’s nice to have some simple activities for your kiddos to work on independently, while you get some of those zillions of little things you need to attend to done, during that crazy first day or week. With that in mind, I designed some fun worksheets.
Fill in your students’ names on the “Look who’s been spotted” worksheet. (Templates for preschool, kindergarten and 1st,
plus a blank one to write in whatever you’re teaching.) Students find
their name and color the circle their favorite color. Be sure and
include your name on the heart.
Assessing your kiddos is also important, but often time consuming and not all that much fun for them, when they’ve already sat through the rules, regulations and procedures talk.
To quickly and easily whole group assess where your students are at, play the “I spy”
games for numbers, shapes, and upper and lowercase letters. Students have
fun and you can see at a glance who’s having difficulty.
The packet also includes 2 writing prompt activities, with completed examples and a D is for dog letter worksheet, ( great for Daily 5 options).
Who’s Name is on the Bone? game is an interesting way to help your students learn to recognize their names, and also a quick way to assess who’s still having problems with that standard.
I’ve also included 4 bookmarks in color as well as black and white, plus one you can give out for good behavior.
