Handbooks are still a great idea, but how many busy parents actually sit down and read them until a problem arises and they need to refer to something.
To make sure that my parents were aware of really important “stuff” I made up this simple ABC checklist. Use my sample to design your own information A-Z note. I sent it home the first week of school, a few days after the deluge of all the other papers from the office. You could also make it available during your Open House or Meet the Teacher nights.
