Are you looking for something quick, easy and fun to fullfill the government’s educational requirement for Constitution Day, (September 17th) at the same time being extremely relevant to your class? Then I think you’ll like this FREEBIE because of its relationship to classroom management.
Have
students discuss and list the jobs and responsibilities of a good
student, as well as an effective teacher. Briefly relate this to the various
jobs and responsibilities of the three branches of our government.
Move
on to a discussion of your classroom and school rules. Tie these in
with the Constitution’s Rules and Laws. End by making up a classroom
constitution (social contract) that all of your students sign.
The packet also includes an explanation of the important Preamble and several worksheets to reinforce that. Various links are given for an easy-to-understand book, plus educational videos.
