I love owls, and since that word rhymes with vowels, I decided to put together a quick, easy and fun little packet that you could use to help students practice CVC words, at the same time learning how to differentiate long and short vowel sounds.
You can play the games as a whole group or set them up as an independent center, or use them as a Daily 5 word work activity.
The mini cards are just the right size for little hands and sorting. With 60 CVC words on a page, and 10 pages, you’ll have plenty of options for your kiddos to practice with.
Besides using them for the vowel games, have students chose 3-6 cards and incorporate those words into sentences, practicing capitalization and end punctuation. Children can also pick 10 cards and put them in alphabetical order.
