Sliders are a quick, easy and fun way to whole group assess a variety of standards. Because the Elf on a Shelf book has been so popular, I decided to design Jingle, a sweet little elf that I think your kiddos will enjoy making.
I call these sliders, because students slide the paper strip up or down ’til the correct answer appears in the viewing “window”. I’ve included sliders with traceable upper and lowercase letters, numbers to 30, plus ones for skip counting by 2’s, 3’s, 5’s, and 10’s, as well as counting backwards from 10 to 0 or 20 to 0.
If you don’t want to make a slider, there’s a “belly book” option, where students record whatever you want them to work on, in an Itty Bitty booklet.
