I love using candy hearts for all sorts of math, reading and writing activities during February.
We count, sort, graph, pattern, add & subtract, as well as measure with these fun manipulatives. The packet includes guess-timation activities as well as worksheets for skip counting by 2s, 3s, 5s, & 10s.
I also wanted to involve reading, so I printed 44 CVC words on them, as well as all of the Dolch words, from all of the Dolch lists (Pre-Primer – 3rd grade.) Use them as posters, or cut them up to make games. Children can also pick some hearts, then alphabetize those words and use them in sentences.
There’s also a set of candy hearts with color words, plus another set that incorporates 66 contractions.
And… if you’re celebrating 100 Day close to Valentine’s Day, you’ll enjoy the “Happy 100 Day!” candy heart cards. For an extra special treat, attach the card to a box of conversation hearts. The Dollar Store sells them in a pack of 4.
As you can see, I’ve went a bit crazy designing candy heart activities!
