Problem solving is the part of Math that allows students to take what we learn and apply it to real life problems. Therefore, our problem solving problems should be about problems that students will encounter in the real world, right? This is the basis behind my Problem Solving Path Math Journals, which allow students to answer math problems in relation to common places that they will find in their neighborhood – the pizzeria, the supermarket, the police station, even the elementary school! Each problem is situated on a handy organizer with a simple grading rubric included. Download the first month for 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade or 5th grade absolutely free in my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
