Creating word pictures is a super-fun way to practice spelling, word lists, and using adjectives in writing, all while creating a lovely work of art that can be turned into notebook covers, anchor charts, posters, bulletin boards, games, cards, and crafts.

I made a butterfly one filled with all of our new butterfly science vocabulary, and my students enjoy playing “I Spy” a CVC and Dolch word with those posters.
