Here’s a fun little freebie that can be used several different ways.
Pass the “color me” alphabet poster out to your students.
Give them a few moments to color, then play “I Spy A Letter” as a fun way to whole group assess.
Give your kiddos an M&M or other manipulative and call out a letter.
Children place their piece of candy on that letter.
You can see at a glance who is having difficulty.
Another thing you can do is put laminated copies in a literacy center.
Using your lowercase foam letters, or letter tiles, have students match the lowercase manipulative to the uppercase letter on the mat.
Children can color their alpha-mat all at once, or one letter at a time when they have studied & mastered it.
