Here are some absolutely awesome leaf craftivities I know your kiddos will enjoy.
Plus, they are super-simple, with terrific results.
This FREEBIE features a really cute paper plate leaf person craft. We read Lois Ehlert’s book, Leaf Man, then go on a nature walk to collect cool “stuff” to create one.
I’ve included a note home to parents, if you want to send this on as a homework assignment.
As you can see by the photo, I think our Leaf People turned out pretty awesome.
The packet also includes a super-simple “cholorophyll” leaf. If you look closely at the photograph, you’ll see that the top, yellow leaf is folded over to reveal the green chlorophyll-filled leaf underneath.
This is a wonderful way to teach this bit of science, at the same time building vocabulary. Even my 4-year-olds can tell you about why leaves change color, using the word chlorophyll to help explain things. And….it’s all because of this little quickie craft!
