Nonfiction Trifold Student Worksheet

All Freebies

I love teaching nonfiction reading and writing!  Now that the Common Core specifically spells out the standards for informational text, teachers around the country will be focusing on nonfiction writing and nonfiction text.

When I first introduce nonfiction to my students, I always use an animal as an example. This is a great way to introduce nonfiction to kids of all ages because who doesn’t love a cute Siberian tiger cub, or a baby white-tailed deer?

Use this worksheet with each piece of nonfiction text you introduce to your students in order to help them select the most important information.
