Here’s a quick, easy and fun 3D heart that’s perfect for all sorts of valentine activities.
It’s super-simple to make a heart-shaped link. PK kiddos can count and show an AB-AB or ABC-ABC color pattern for their valentine paper chain.
Older students can write a spelling or sight word on each link. Math equations work too. Just a little something different for party day.
Use the paper chain as a writing prompt, and have students write a “Happy Valentine’s Day” message on the links to give to someone.
You can also make a lovely heart bouquet for mom. (Poke into the top of an upside down Dixie cup).
Teachers can make the heart paper chain to keep track of how many days are left ’til Valentine’s Day or the end of February!
I’ve also included owl, pencil-holder valentine cards that you can quickly make for your students. “For a sharp student!”
Simply
insert the pencil into the slits on the valentine heart & you’re
all set with an inexpensive surprise. The Dollar Store sells a pack of 20 valentine pencils too.
For a bit more pizzazz, I used a glue dot to top off the pencil
with one of the paper hearts.
My students tell me that a pencil topper makes writing more fun! Win-win.
