Learning about machines and forces is easier for students when they can see the real life applications of these concepts. My favorite way to show students these applications is by taking them on field trips to factories. My kids have seen machines at a candy making factory, a furniture factory and the US Bureau of Printing and Engraving. During each field trip, we keep track of our learning on this simple Factory Field Trip Checklist which you can download for free from my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
