Doubles and Near Doubles–Christmas style!

All Freebies· PK-2

I loved teaching firsties about doubles and near double facts.  I had this fun activity that they loved and not only was it cute, it was also purposeful.  Students will color their trees and then sort the facts that are on the ornaments by whether they are doubles or near doubles (doubles or doubles +/-1, etc;  Personally, I like the term “near doubles” much more than the +1 or -1… it just makes more sense with the kids.)
