February is almost over, and your black history month studies may be coming to an end. This winter I had the privilege of seeing the film Hidden Figures. The movie inspired me, as it told the stories of three African American female scientists who worked at NASA during segregation. I created this free black history word search and included the names of these three women, and many other hidden (and some, not so hidden) figures from black history. I hope you and your students enjoy this word search.
Since your students may not be familiar with some of the names in the word search, use it as a challenge. Tell them they can earn extra credit if they research a lesser known name included on the word search. This will encourage your students to learn more about this part of American history.
