Mother’s Day is just around the corner, so here’s a simple card your kiddos can make.
The “My mom is really sweet because…” writing prompt cupcake card is a quick, easy and fun “craftivity” that’s sure to become a special keepsake.
For that finishing touch, I used a scrapbook roller that crinkles paper,
and had my students run their cupcake “liner” pattern through it.
They love doing this, and it’s great for strengthening those finger muscles.
You can buy a “crinkler” at craft, hobby & scrapbooking stores. I use mine for a variety of projects all year long, so it’s worth the $18.
To make the card extra special, students
glue their photo inside the “cherry”.
The “frosting” is hinged with a piece of Scotch tape so the card flips open to reveal the writing prompt.
I’ve included a blank template so you can program it for “mums”, grandma, or anyone else who’s a “sweetie” in your students’ lives. 🙂
