Reading comprehension is directly tied to vocabulary knowledge. But students with language disorders have difficulty with word relationships.
With my copy, I have laminated each page, cut out the leaves and pumpkins, added velcro, and then students pick a leaf (or pumpkin) and find where it belongs by matching it to the antonym (or synonym).
You can also add a fine motor component and have students do the cutting, then glueing to the backgrounds.
Have fun “raking” in the leaves! And, keep on talking.
