How Bulletin Boards Can Send a Message
Bulletin boards are some of the first things students see when they walk into a school. They can be used to send students a powerful message and to set the tone for the year.
I always have a welcoming bulletin board in my hallway to greet my students. Usually they display students work but at the beginning of the year, I want something that can inspire all students in the school.
One of my favourite bulletin boards to create is the “BE” bulletin board. I want students to know that they are free to be themselves in my classroom.
We follow this up with lessons on character traits and they create a mini poster all about themselves and their personal character traits. These get hung up around the BE bulletin board for everyone to see.
