Free Thanksgiving Worksheets for Grades 3-5

3-5· All Freebies

Thanksgiving will be here sooner than we think. Are you starting to prep now?

I like to plan ahead as often as possible and these FREE Thanksgiving worksheets  make planning quick and easy.Free Thanksgiving Worksheets Terri's Teaching TreasuresIncluded are 3 different pages that help to infuse Thanksgiving across my Math and Literacy curriculum.

The first page has multiplication facts filling a turkey outline. I like to challenge my students to make progress so we use this same sheet a few times. They complete it the first time during a 3-5 minute session. We mark them together and they get their total of correct answers. Free Thanksgiving Worksheets Turkey multiplication facts Terri's Teaching TreasuresGrowth mindset is a key focus of my classroom so we talk about how they can improve on their score. The answer is obviously practice and we discuss ways to practice. Later on in the week we try again. The only goal is to do better than last time, even if it is to improve by getting only 1 more correct (that is progress). The only person students are trying to do better than is their self from earlier in the week.

We do this a couple times before Thanksgiving. Quick and easy prep and great mindset lessons!

How do you incorporate this freebie into Writing?

Every Friday (or Thursday if there is no school on Friday) my class writes letters to someone at home. The letters are all about the things they did at school this week. This is a great way to review the events of the week, work on letter writing format, practice writing skills, and let parents see how their child is writing on a weekly basis. Free Thanksgiving Worksheets Eat Beef turkey writing paper Terri's Teaching TreasuresI try to find themed writing papers (this seems to be the best encouragement for my students) and the Eat Beef page in this freebie is what will be used this year!

How about a “just for fun” vocabulary activity?

Sometimes we just need to take a break and do something fun. My class loves doing crossword puzzles so that is why I added the crossword puzzle to the free product pack. If you need it to be used in a more academic way, use the word bank words as your weekly spelling words. The crossword puzzle can be a practice page or put in a literacy center.
