St. Patrick’s Day Activity — a new freebie!

As a teacher in early Spring, your days go by so fast — there are reviews and testing, and a long-awaited Spring Break! Perhaps you might like a little treat to fill the end of a period or warm up the beginning of a class – that’s why we made this St. Patrick’s Day Activity and are offering it here, on Classroom Freebies. This freebie takes a traditional Irish saying and scrambles it. The quote is sweet and perfect for Spring.

How do you use this word scramble as a St. Patrick’s Day activity for middle school students?

It’s easy! Everything is ready to print and go! Here’s the quote:

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light, may good luck pursue you each morning and night.

The words have been scrambled, and your students will be challenged to solve the puzzle by arranging the words into the correct order, reconstructing the quote. Here’s the worksheet, with space below to work on:

For collaborative learning, you can project it on a whiteboard so a group or the entire class can work on it together. You can also make it into a reusable activity by printing out the little slips of torn “paper” and laminating — use them over and over as a re-usable activity!

Plus it will help your middle school students with vocabulary and sentence structure. If you are looking for a team-building St. Patrick’s Day activity that fills an entire period and they enjoy this freebie, there are links to our St. Patrick’s Day Break Out Box, which contains 3 other puzzles and lets students create their own St. Patrick’s Day kitten prize.

We hope you enjoy this freebie for St. Patrick’s Day!
