Polar Express Themed Printables

All Freebies· PK-2

Are you looking for some Polar Express themed printables for your Firsties?  Do you want more than a coloring sheet?

Look no further.  Included in this FREEBIE are 5 activity sheets themed around the Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg.  These pages meet ELA standards RF 2 and 3, Writing 1, and Math OA6.

After teaching first grade for 14 years as a homeroom teacher and 4 years as an EIP teacher, I know these are skills that need practice and review around the end of the first semester: digraphs, short vowels, math fact families.  That’s why I included these skills in this activity pack to provide meaningful practice, while having a little Christmas fun. It is fun to provide students with practice around a theme, a book or a movie.  This busy time of year, a quick printable is just what we need.  Our school is having a “Polar Express” week next week, so I created these Polar Express themed printables to share with my first grade friends.  I hope you will find them useful in your classroom this last week before the holiday.
