End of Year Activities Mega Roundup

I have been there with only a couple weeks left in the school year.  Testing is complete for the primary students, you have an end of the year checkout list longer than your arm, and the children are pretty squirrelly all around.  Not to mention your lack of sleep and stress from the year as a whole is finally starting to hit hard like jet lag.

You need some fun activities that will keep students occupied, still involve learning, and will help keep you sane in the process.  Perhaps a few of the following ideas will save the day.

Does your school participate in a school wide Field Day? How fun would it be to have matching class shirts to make it easy to spot “your” students?

It takes a little pre-planning, but download the template below.

Have all students draw and color a t-shirt design – making sure the art has the year and teacher name on it.

Ask a few teacher friends to be on a panel to pick the best design from the entries.

Scan the design (scale as needed) and print on t-shirt transfer paper. Make enough for your entire class.

Ask parents to donate a plain white tee for their student. OPTIONAL: Do a “tie dye party” with a couple friends at home with all the student shirts before ironing on the t-shirt transfers.

Save the shirts at school for the big day (so you don’t risk students forgetting theirs at home).

Make sure you take a fun class group picture with everyone wearing their shirts!
