I am surprised how much I enjoy teaching poetry to my fourth grade students. There are so many fun types to read and so many fun poetry styles for students to try writing.
My students always amaze me with their creativity and thoughtfulness.
My students love creating shape poems.
I can combine it with a review of adjectives, and by using a Google search for black and white clipart images, they create some amazing designs.
