Halloween journal writing

Halloween Story Starters: It’s spooky season, and Halloween is almost here! Fall is a great time to encourage your students to do some creative writing, especially with all of the creepy topics to write about.

Halloween Creative Writing Topics for Your Students

Here are a few of my favorite themes and Halloween writing topics students can use for inspiration to write:

  1. The Wicked Witch’s Black Hat
  2. The Pumpkin’s Secret
  3. Haunted House on Hallow Road
  4. A Friendly Ghost?
  5. Halloween Night Misadventure

Inspire Your Students to Write this Spooky Season

Of course, you and your students will need more inspiration to set their writing on fire.

Click here to access the detailed 5 Halloween Creative Story Starters with additional information to get your students excited about writing. Each creative writing prompt includes a fun title along with a description to get your students thinking and writing.

Do you need a writing checklist for your students?

You will also get access to the FREE Halloween Story Starters plus the Story Writing Checklist. I love this writing checklist because you can either display it in your classroom or print one out for each student to glue into their writing journals.

Keeping students engaged around Halloween is hard to do, but is also a must! Check out these Classroom Management Forms here.

Happy Teaching and Happy Halloween!
