Students Hate Writing Poems? Try a Poet-Tweet or Twaiku!

All Freebies

Make Poetry Easy & Fun with Poetweets and Twaikus

Writing poetry should be pleasurable for students. I always start them out with very short poems so they are less intimidated. Using Twitter as an inspiration, have students spice up the old haiku with a “Poetweet” or “Twaiku”!

Download my FREE lesson to use in your classroom. Includes student handouts, examples, and directions. This is an excellent activity for inspiring creativity in your students, no matter what the content area. (Yes, math and science teachers, you CAN use this in your class! Have students write a poem about the unit you are currently studying. Use it as an alternative to a chapter summary.)

Have fun!
