Enzyme Lab for Biology Students

All Freebies

In this lab, students will observe the function of enzymes and will learn many facts about enzymes. Students will observe the role of catalase inside living cells and will compare the enzyme catalase to the catalyst manganese dioxide.

Materials needed: Fresh plant and animal tissue, Test tubes and racks, Boiled animal tissues, Manganese dioxide, 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, Sand, Mortar and pestle.

    Excellent! I am going to use this in my Grade 6 class. It is a real science experiment and they will not understand it all, but I can explain it at their level. It will make a wonderful lab report and will keep their attention! The advanced students will enjoy the challenge. This lab can be differentiated for all levels. Thank you!
