WHERE’S WALDO you ask????
That’s me!!!! Dressed as my first picture book in polka-dot splendor, arriving in New York for an author-illustrator visit to an elementary school filled with 330 kindergarten children!!!!! Each student has created a ‘quilt’ square in reference to the fabric, quilted illustrations that I created in my first picture book. Imagine how thrilled I am to walk in and see this backdrop!!!
Click over here to see a YouTube video of my visit — come on over to listen in on a two minute slice of our concert together in the school gymnasium as we sing my original song, “Glad I’m at School Today.” It’s a little peek into a successful author visit and some choreographed patterns that cross the midline. Just taking a look at the colossal community quilt will give you a smile I’m sure!!!! I think it will also give you new ideas for ‘expanding’ on the artwork of your favorite picture book. Be prepared for some enthusiasm and a whole lot of energy!!
Thanks for allowing me to share this amazing day!!
