No worksheet needed for this activity only Tape Register Paper.
The teacher lays down on the floor with an unrolled tape register paper strip under her body. The students place a mark at the bottom of her feet and the top of her head. The teacher moves and the students then cut the register tape at the marked measurements. Since this activity was completed in a Kindergarten classroom, non-standard measuring items were used to calculate the final lengths.
A great discussion took place as a result of the teacher measuring all different lengths because of all the different non-standard measurement tools that were used. The final display of all the different strips with the different measurement amounts written on each tape was the perfect picture of their learning. It was awesome.
Fun and learning was had by ALL!
