Grammar Egg Hunt

All Freebies

When I was a first grade teaacher, instead of having an Easter Egg Hunt with my class, I had a Grammar Egg Hunt each Spring. I would get some plastic eggs, write different nouns, verbs, and adjectives on each egg with a Sharpie (one word per egg), and then put little slips of paper inside telling the correct part of speech along with a piece of candy. Students would hunt for the eggs in our room, or if it was a pretty day, outside.

Then they had to put the words on this sheet under the correct designation. They cracked the eggs to see if they were correct. If they got it correct, they got to keep the candy inside the egg.  I always gave plenty of chances..new eggs…to correct any incorrect answers so everyone always got to keep all their candy.

Maybe your kiddos will enjoy this fun grammar activity too.  Click on the picture above to get your copy, or click here.
