Reading Comprehension is something I focus a lot of time on in my classroom. Because it is so very important to EVERYTHING we do, I find that I am always looking for new and engaging ways to get meaningful responses out of the students.
I have been using Strategy Logs in my class for sometime now. Strategy Logs are a simple log where the students record their predictions, summaries, etc…(get your free copy here!). While they work great, my students were beginning to get too used to them. Whats more, they require copies. So I was trying to think of a new way to get my students reengaged and thinking about their strategies. That is when I came up with something that my students are loving…Comprehension Mats!
Head on over to my blog to see how I am using these little gems, and pick up a bit of it for your own classroom.
