Good morning, CF friends! I know many of you are planning today (as so am I!) and you’re looking for resources and ideas. Well, you’ve come to the right place! Classroom Freebies is the mecca for resources and ideas for multiple grade levels and subjects AND they’re all free!
Not sure how this works across the country, but Red Ribbon Week (“Say No to Drugs”) was this upcoming week at my school. Because we’re giving the ITBS, so we’re having to push RRW to next week. 🙁
The kids really get into it! We usually have a schedule of dress up ideas throughout the week and both teachers and kids have a blast! But we also have discussions and activities that help the students realize the dangers of drugs as well as the positive alternatives (such as sports or volunteering).
I created the following writing freebie to go along with our instruction during this week. But honestly, it could be used at anytime in the school year.
The download includes a prewriting graphic organizer and publishing/final copy paper. When finished, you could help the kids hang them out in the hallway. What a display of responsibility and positivity that will be!
What other activities do you and your kids complete during Red Ribbon Week?
