Using “I am” Poems in class

All Freebies

Have you ever used an “I am” poem in class before?  These are great poems to get your kids thinking about autobiographical traits.  However, I used it a bit differently this time.  My students took up a character and wrote from the point of view of the character!  Come on over to my blog to read about what we did, and pick up your free grading rubric so that you can do it as well.
