Have your students practice scientific writing with this fun lab/writing activity!
Students are given the task of building a unique and unusual structure out of various building materials. The student must then write a set of instructions on how to build the structure. After the instructions are written, students exchange papers and try to build each other’s structures.
My students have a great time with this activity. This can be used in any science class and is appropriate for grades 6-12, perhaps even as low as 5th grade. Enjoy!
