This apple matching game is inexpensive to make, as they sell clip-on clothespins at The Dollar Store. Print
off an upper and lowercase apple using two different colors of
construction paper, add a leaf and stem, laminate and trim.
So that the letters appear correctly on the apple when clipped, clip the
clothespins to your apple and then write the uppercase letters on the front of the clothespins. For easy sorting, use a red marker for uppercase letters and a black marker for the lowercase letters (written on the back of the clothespin.)
Store your
clothespins along with the apples in a large Ziplock Baggie. Also included: A
note home to send with a struggling child, for more one-on-one work, as
well as a reminder note if a child fails to return the game, + an apple
alphabet anchor chart, so students can self-check their work.
